Carelessness

I know it has been a few days since my last blog, but trust me; I have a lot to say. If any of you know me, you know I have been on a journalistic ‘beat.’ That beat just happens to be on parking. I have written stories, opinions pieces, and even done class projects on this topic. Throughout the process of journalism this year I have become much more opinionated, found my voice you could say. Anyways, while I expressed my thoughts on parking I was approached with much disagreement, but that is fine, I totally respect that. After the ‘storm’ settled I thought everything had past and we could move on, but something happened recently that really struck a chord with me.
Last Thursday, I was running late to school, so the street parking was full. I reluctantly had to park in the teachers’ lot. I say reluctantly because I know this lot is not monitored as much as the other side of the school is. So, after school I go out to my car and find it hit! I was so pissed; I parked where no one was around me. But some careless person decided to be lazy and hit me.  After I discovered this I did what my grandpa always told me to do, “No matter what type of accident, always report it.” So, I did.   Luckily the dent was not horrible and my grandpa was able to buff a lot of the scratches out, but still; why are people so careless?
