Royal Wedding

Okay, what is the deal with all of this Royal wedding crap? This topic has been on my mind for about the past month, not because it interests me, but because it is everywhere! TV News, websites, papers, and even the corny "memorabilia." Who really wants a plate with two peoples heads stamped on it, cause' I know I don't.

And don't get me started on the actually wedding coverage. I have seen preview after preview for "Countdown to the Royal Wedding," on HLH, CNN, NBC, and they are not the only ones. Even E! will be" live in London."
Live! Really? All of these networks begin their coverage at the butt crack of dawn. I feel like 3am Central time is redonkulous, not to mention the 1am Eastern time coverage.

I guess the coverage on the wedding is not the issue I see. If you want to wake up at 3am to watch someone else get married halfway across the world, who doesn't affect the American government, and you have no personal connection to; go for it. Whatever floats your boat. I just want to know why it is so important. I understand Kate and William will be the future Queen and King of the United Kingdom, and wherever else they reign; but their rule does not affect the US.  It is hard to put my confusion into words, but it just feels like Americans are more excited than the actual English citizens.  Check this poll out on who will be watching the Royal Wedding.

  1. Didn't we form this country because we grew tired of royalty?!
